Festival of Colours of the World 2011 (FESCO 2011)

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Bandar Seri Iskandar, Tronoh, Perak, will be organising Festival of Colours of the World 2011 (FESCO 2011). This is an annual event organized since 2008 with the main objective of promoting culture and arts. This year, the festival will see the participation from 7 local universities and 2 international universities/colleges with close to 350 dancers from different genres and culture.

The festival will showcase a variety of folks and traditional cultural performances from the respective participating universities/colleges in line with the theme of the event, “Creative 1 Malaysia Dance”.  The rationale behind this festival is to demonstrate that unity and integrity can also be achieved through culture and arts.

It is hoped with FESCO 2011 IPTs students in Malaysia will have the opportunity to showcase their talent in performing arts. It will also encourage and educate them on the importance of appreciating Malaysian and foreign arts and culture. It also serves as a platform to showcase the country’s cultural diversity and uniqueness through arts and cultural activities.
