Last year, I was in Lehigh University for 3 months as a visiting researcher. I experienced two natural disasters; the Virginia earthquake and hurricane Irene. Even though the Lehigh area was affected, it was small. To tell you the truth, I was scared but at the same time I was excited. It was my first experience.
When I did my PhD in Adelaide, Australia, there were big floods and fire. The fire was worst (in 2009). It was called as the Black Saturday bushfires. Although it happened a few hundred km away, it spread fast. It stop short at the border. 173 people died with many more injured.
The pink coloured - close to South Australia (SA) where Adelaide is the capital.
We experienced a few tremors yesterday. Even with that small tremors we were already scared and prayed for our life. Compare that with others who were not so lucky. It is not really natural if you think about it.

I am quite surprised yesterday and quickly called my parents to know their whereabouts, and also to inform about the probability of tsunami taking place since I read that Singapore also might get effected, so there is percentage my hometown might too.
Thanks to Allah SWT nothing bad happened.
