X ialah salah satu punk bands paling awal dalam Los Angeles punk scene di U.S. lewat ‘70an seangkatan dengan bands macam The Germs, The Weirdos, The Bags, The Dils, The Avengers dan Black Flag. Kau boleh tengok footage dari tahun-tahun awal X dan L.A. punk scene dalam filem dokumentari "The Decline of Western Civilization”. 7” EP pertama X keluar tahun 1978 atas legendary punk label Dangerhouse Records. Album pertama X bertajuk “Los Angeles” pulak diterbitkan oleh Ray Manzarek dari The Doors yang kata X dia punya favourite L.A. band. X siap rakam satu lagu cover The Doors dalam LP ni.
