The subgenre "crossover" was coined after the title of this album. It simply means that a hardcore band is making a crossover into metal. The two previous albums by DRI were hardcore-punk; fast and furious. This one was more melodic, slower with added metallic elements.
I think this album is OK. However, this transparent reissue (2013) is muddy. I think the mix was not done properly. The source might be digital. Need to find the first press.
