South Korea trip 6: Gwangyang City

Gwangyang (Gwangyang-si) is a city in South Jeolla Province, South Korea. Gwangyang city is the home of POSCO's Gwangyang Steel Works, the largest facility of its kind in the world. The city is also home to K-League football side Chunnam Dragons.

Gwangyang is at the centre of development for the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone (GFEZ) due for completion in 2011. The Free Economic Zone will focus on port container handling, steel production, shipbuilding as well as leisure facilities. (wikipedia)

Destinasi pertama: Public information centre.

Posing failed!

Amoi (?) ni bahasa Inggeris agak bagus tapi pemalu kalah warga Malaysia.

Destinasi kedua: One building yang akan menjadi tapak UTP di Korea (?). Pemandangan dari tingkat atas terus ke Gwangyang Port.

Tidaklah sesibuk mana tetapi ianya makin berkembang saban hari.

Bilik kuliah.

Lagi bilik kuliah. Notis akan kameraman itu.

Study room.

I am picking this workstation, kata salah seorang delegasi UTP.
No worries, it will be yours kata Prof Kim.

Director's seat.

Ketua delegasi UTP ditemuramah oleh stesen tv Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) (Korean: 한국 방송 공사, Hanguk Bangsong Gongsa) which is a South Korean radio and television network, founded in 1927. It is the biggest out of the four major South Korean television networks.

Library yang kecil dan comel. Student batch terakhir untuk program ini yang bakal diambil alih.

Bilik kuliah.

Bilik simulasi.

Lagi bilik simulasi.

Lagi bilik simulasi.

Malamnya, makan beradab bersama the Mayor of Gwangyang City.

Can you believe it? DURIAN is served! Tapi only to the UTP delegation. I wonder why...

Another posing failed, now with the Mayor.

Kami juga melawat Gwangyang Steel Works: The Steel Works in Gwangyang is POSCO's second mill in the country after the mill in Pohang. The mill boasts having the largest steel plant in the world, the most modern technology, and the best facilities for steel manufacturing. It presently produces coil used for making bridges, iron structures, cars, refrigerators, and more. Its production capacity averages about 18 million tons per year. This plant is also a tourist trap for many people attracting more than 300,000 people from around the globe.

Malangnya tidak dibenarkan ambil gambar. Cuma yang saya boleh bagitau SUPERB. Seeing is believing, melihat bagaimana besi diproses depan mata.
