Review: QUINCY JONES Soul Bossa Nostra

Quincy Jones has a long history in the music industry and pretty impressive one I tell you. 79 Grammy Awards nominations (27 won) is enough to tell you what kind of musician he is. And most of all, everyone will remember him as the producer of the highest selling album in history, Michael Jackson's Thriller. Well, he has nothing more to prove. Perhaps, this is the time for somebody to pay tribute to his works. And this album just do that. 15 tracks of re-interpretations of songs associated with him. Too bad that this album only focus on the side of the black music. What about re-interpretations in rock, punk, metal or hardcore. That might be more interesting but again, not all songs are suitable for that kind of re-interpretations. Otherwise, for those who are not familiar with his works since most of us are genre-specific, this album serve no purpose for these kind of people other than a token of appreciation by those affected by his music.
