Review: HATRIOT demo 2011

I am always a fan of Zetro's fronted Exodus. OK, to be frank, Impact Of Imminent and Force of Habit were not always poured as my cup of tea but undeniably, Pleasures Of The Flesh and Fabulous Disaster kicked major asses. I am also one of the listener who thinks Zetro can sing better that the late Paul Baloff. After Zetro was kicked out from Exodus, he fronted some other projects, unfortunately no worthy of  mentioning. Now after a few years, he stood up again and fronted Hatriot. A free downloadable demo was released and I am listening to it. Verdict? Great tunes. Thrash Metal with the same old speed but added with some touches of modernity. Not really original but I think the way they played it does reminds me of Exodus. The guitar works are the major resemblance plus the double solos that clicked the memory of Holt/Hunolt shreds. The ryhthm section should have more variety such as playing different pattern on the same chord progression. Anyway, as far as I am concern, I think Hatriot has some potential. Zetro got the reputation and this band make sense. It is worthy to note that Zetro's son is also in the band, playing bass guitar.
HATRIOT — the new thrash metal project led by veteran San Francisco Bay Area vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza (TENET, DUBLIN DEATH PATROL, EXODUS, LEGACY) — has made its entire four-song demo available for free download:

* Megaupload
* Mediafire

The tracks featured on the demo are as follows:

01. The Fear Within
02. Weapons Of Class Destruction
03. Globacidal
04. The Mechanics Of Annihilation
