EXTREME NOISE TERROR (ENT) boleh dianggap salah satu pengasas subgenre crustcore (atau crust punk) dan juga penggerak utama dalam mid-80’s UK hardcore scene yang melahirkan muzik grindcore. ENT bukanlah band pertama yang main muzik hardcore yang laju dan bising, tapi band terawal yang bawa muzik hardcore ke tahap extreme dan brutal — menggabungkan Swedish D-Beat thrash macam Anti-Cimex, anarcho-punk lirik macam Crass dengan guttural & growly vocals macam Kuro & G.I.S.M.
