Review: RAY DAVIES See My Friends

For the Malaysian rockers, The Kinks' You Really Got Me was made even popular when Search covered them in their debut album (albeit the reworked title and lyrics). I am sure so many people were converted not only in Malaysia but all over the world. You Really Got Me is probably an anthem equivalent to Beat It of rock. Well The Kinks is no more but the person behind it is still here, alive and kicking. Summing all the highlights through collaboration is perhaps the right step to commemorate not only his personal achievement but also the legacy that left via The Kinks. Looking at the artists who joined, one will know that they were people lining up, begging to be given the chance to collaborate. Of course, he pick up the best - Jon Bon Jovi, Metallica, Bruce Springsteen and so on. This is one of those good tribute album (if you want to call it as a tribute album). Even if you know nothing about Ray Davies or The Kinks, I can guarantee you that you will play it along in the stereo without interrupting the track flow. Highly recommended!
