Dokumentari BRAZIL Heavy Metal

Dokumentari Metal dah banyak sekarang ini. Bermula dengan kejayaan global Sam Dunn dengan dokumentari seminal, METAL: A Headbanger's Journey beberapa tahun dulu.

Pengarah yang sama merilis Global Metal dan di dalam dokumentari itu, scene Metal Indonesia masuk sekali. Malaysia? Takde.

Sekarang, dokumentari sejarah Metal di Brazil telahpun terhasil walaupun kritikan hebat datang dari penonton dari Brazil sendiri kerana dokumentari tersebut 'tertinggal' bands yang sebenarnya meletakkan Brazil di peta dunia seperti Sepultura, Sarcofago, Vulcano etc.

Brazil memang dikenali sebagai antara pelopor Metal tersohor dunia terutama yang ekstrim. Sepultura, Sarcafago, Vulcano antara nama-nama yang menjadi idola otai-otai Metal tanahair.

Jadi, memang timing yang sangat elok, dokumentari dari Brazil ini dibuat dan diriliskan.

Malaysia bila lagi? Kalau tak Metal 100% pun, kurang-kurang scene rock kangkang tu dah bagus sangat buat dokumentari.

The video for the theme song of "Brasil Heavy Metal", the documentary about the Brazilian metal movement, can be viewed below. Sixteen singers from the 1980s Brazilian heavy metal scene contributed to the track.

The movie's director, Ricardo "Micka" Michaelis, explained how the idea of this historic gathering came about: "One morning I received one of the songs that will be part of the double CD/LP project 'Brasil Heavy Metal'. It was a song from the band STRESS. Along with other usual activities, I started listening to it and in less than a minute I was already stunned. I admit that I was emotionally touched." The song's sound and lyrics reminded the director of all those feelings from the Eighties when everything related to heavy metal was new. "I called my friend China Lee, SALÁRIO MÍNIMO's vocalist, and played the song over the phone for him," he continued. "He immediately said: 'Dude, lets all sing this song' And then we went crazy..."

Using STRESS' song structure, the movie production compay booked several recording sessions in São Paulo, Belo Horizonte and Rio de Janeiro, and invited a number of Brazilian singers that represent the country's metal scene of the Eighties. "Those were magical moments," reveals Micka. "Some of the participants were no longer singing, but it was not a concern. I could see in each one's eyes how it was important to them and how much being part of the scene's history meant to them."

The video clip was produced in full HD with captions in Japanese, Spanish, English and German.

"Care, love and passion touched everybody and I am sure that the fans will feel the energy of these warriors. That is why we really want to make the biggest heavy metal statement that Brazil has ever seen!" concludes the director about the project which he promises will be "the most loyal historic document about the birth of the Brazilian heavy metal in the Eighties."

"Brasil Heavy Metal" is expected to feature interviews with more than 50 personalities who have been involved with the Brazilian metal scene since the early 1980s, including members of SEPULTURA, VULCANO, KORZUS, VIPER, DORSAL ATLÂNTICA, TAURUS and CÉRBERO.
